July 15, 2009 ♦ New Design

We have a new design for the website courtesy of Josh Boyd. It’s still a little “under construction” though. The family crest isn’t completely finished yet, so for now it’s black with an orange horse. When it is finished we will get the new one up. Other than that there are minor changes we need to finish up. Other than that, let us know what you think about it!

July 14, 2009 ♦ Max Laughs As He Crashes

I forgot I had these videos. Here are a couple videos from November 29th, 2008. We are all at the mall after we went to see the Trains at North Park. Grandpa was pushing Max in the stroller. Max thought it was funny when Grandpa crashes the stroller.

July 14, 2009 ♦ First Time Using The Potty

Max used the potty for the first time! And I’m proud to say I was on the phone with Jessica when he did it. Being in California I miss out on a lot of things that happen in Texas.

Jessica bought the potty for him and got home and took off his diaper. She could tell he really needed to go but he didn’t want to without his diaper on. He kept looking at Jessica with a look of despiration because he really needed to go. And he really needed that diaper in order go to. Eventually he did it.

This actually happened yesterday but I forgot to post it.Sorry!

Here is the picture:

July 14, 2009 ♦ Preview of the Family Crest

As I said in the previous post, Josh has been working on the family crest. He has send me an “in progress” design of what he has right now. I have to say, it looks great so far. He’s not happy with the horse so he’s going to be doing so work on that.

Check out what he has so far.

I also made a little bit of an update to the code on the site. The site is using a Javascript library called Shadowbox for all of the popup windows that open all of the images and videos. Shadowbox has been updated from version 2 to version 3.

Van had another soccer game today. They won 6-0. Most in part by Van. He scored 5 goals! He scored 3 goals so they decided to put him in a sgoalie to let the other team have a chance. When he was playing goalie, he stopped everything they kicked toward him. After a while they took him out of goalie and he scored two more goals. So they took him off the field and told him it was his turn to sit out. Good job, Van!

Watch a video of Van scoring his second goal.

July 14, 2009 ♦ Max’s First Timeout

Max had his first time out today. I’ll let Miguel or Jessica explain the reason why. Since it was his first time out, they wanted to take a picture. So now he is getting punished and everyone is taking pictures of him and all he can do is cry and say “No picture”

So here is the picture from his first timeout:

July 14, 2009 ♦ Max tries on Granda’s brace

When Jessica, Atley, and I were younger, one of the things we always mention when we talk is playing with our fathers’ brace. It was just so much fun to play with and we don’t know why.

My parents took Van and Max while Miguel and Jessica celebrated their anniversary. While they were there, Max decided to try on Grandpa’s brace. Here is a picture of him with the brace on.

He was still playing with it hours later before he went to bed.

July 14, 2009 ♦ Site Is Back Online

The website is back up. For more hard drive space, more bandwidth, faster servers, and the ability to have subdomains, all for a little less than half the price I was paying before, FreerksenFamily.com is now hosted at Hostek.

It took longer than expected to move from one host to another but it finally got finished. I have also added all of the previous posts to the site.

If you experience any problems with the site, please let me know and I will get it fixed ASAP.
